Adcote has just celebrated its first 100 years as a highly regarded place of learning for many hundreds of very successful young ladies. It is our intention to ensure the next 100 years are just as successful.

At Adcote we firmly believe in the excellence of our teaching, the enthusiastic nature of our students and staff, our friendly, close community and that all of our children should achieve success in life. We believe that education is primarily about "learning for life" and that whilst academic success is a priority it is only a part of what makes our school so successful.

This is how the inspectors from the ISA described our wonderful school in November 2006:
"The leadership has a clear vision for the school's development and is supported by an effective senior management team and is backed by hard-working and caring staff, who work very well together as a team to provide education, pastoral care and support of a high quality. The provision for boarding is outstanding. Teaching is very good and often excellent and is an important element in the achievement by pupils".

We also place a strong emphasis on our provision of sports, drama, music, and multitude of other activities which enable our children to develop their confidence and to learn other skills vital in producing successful, informed, mature and self-reliant young ladies who depart Adcote for the career or University placement of their choice. We place a very strong emphasis on the traditional subjects but use the new technologies to help to deliver our extensive curriculum. We are currently upgrading our ICT provision throughout the school.

Our school days, according to perceived wisdom, are supposed to be "the happiest days of our lives". Here at Adcote it has always been the assumption that children who are happy and enjoy school are much more likely to learn productively and to achieve success. Therefore, it will be no surprise that, one of our priorities is to ensure that all of our pupils are happy and are able to enjoy their education to the full.
