Shropshire's Boarding School for Girls

Boarding at Adcote
The school has excellent full-time, weekly or occasional boarding facilities for girls aged 7 to 18. Boarders live on the first and second floors of the house where the rooms are airy, spacious and attractive. Most girls enjoy sharing a room, whilst some of the Sixth Form have a study bedroom of their own.
Each student has a personal tutor to offer friendship, support and guidance. In addition to tutors, responsibility for the care, personal development, welfare and general happiness of boarders rests with the resident Pastoral Deputy, who is assisted by three resident matrons and supported by the school doctors. The boarding team provide support for the girls in their academic work and encourage involvement in extracurricular activities.

Adcote’s underlying principle is consideration for others and we have a strong sense of both family and traditional values in the House. There is a happy mixture of local girls and those whose homes are elsewhere in the UK, with students from other countries who have chosen to study in England.
Our aim is to provide a safe and homely environment that enables each girl in our care to become a self-sufficient and independent young woman, fully equipped to face the challenges of life in the 21st century.
Adcote is a full termly boarding school, and girls are well looked after, not only during the week but at weekends, too. As part of our imaginative provision for both day girls and boarders, we run trips to local venues for shopping, swimming and bowling, visits to concert halls and theatres in the region, and weekend trips to places such as The Eden Project, Bath, and Hadrian's Wall.
