Learning Support

Strength and Opportunity

Learning Support plays a vital part in school life at Adcote. Every child has the support and encouragement she needs to do her best and exceed her expectations. We are able to give support to those who need it and wings to those who can fly faster and further.

The school has a Learning Support department where our qualified and experienced special needs co-ordinator ensures that the girls' achievements are monitored. We can also assess for SPLD, Dyspraxia and autistic spectrum disorders or if necessary refer pupils to appropriate outside professional help.

Flexible programmes can be introduced where necessary. These may take the form of individual or group support lessons, in-class assistance or extra training for staff. Girls' progress is closely monitored at all times.

All girls are assessed at their point of entry. If necessary, parents are invited to discuss the results, further tests can be arranged and an appropriate plan of structured learning devised.
