ADCOTE ATTRACTS OVER 150 VISITORS & RAISES £850 FOR CHARITY

The opportunity to see Adcote's grounds - and enjoy the school's traditional summer fete - certainly proved a popular choice with over 150 visitors who took advantage of some glorious sunshine to wander around the beautiful gardens surrounding the school's historic Grade 1 listed building.

In addition to stalls featuring everything from plants and crafts to toys and gifts visitors were treated to a delicious selection of home-made cream teas and locally made ice-creams. Amongst those who attended the event which raised over £850 for charity were The Right Worshipful Mayor & Mayoress of Shrewsbury & Atcham, Councillor John Cooke and his wife Margaret.

Annie Moody, Parent Staff Association organiser said, "We were extremely lucky with the weather and delighted to have raised so much money for charity. It was lovely to see so many people discovering Adcote - especially as there were quite a number who were visiting us for the first time. The school provides a perfect environment for the girls to enjoy their studies but we believe it's important for visitors to have the chance to share the school's heritage too."
