ADCOTE HEAD TO LEAVE SCHOOL IN SAFE HANDS

Adcote Head, Debbie Hammond will be leaving the school at the end of the Summer Term to start her own business. Her successor, Ryan Jervis who is currently Head of Lakelands in Ellesmere, has been an outstanding and exceptionally successful Head for the past 12 years.

Under his leadership pupil numbers have doubled and the school has achieved recognition as a specialist Sports and Language College . In November last year Ofsted described Lakelands as an "outstanding" school, the first and only secondary school in Shropshire to achieve this accolade by attaining the top grade across the board.

Ryan is understandably enthusiastic about his move to Adcote. "As soon as the opportunity became available I grasped it with both hands. I am delighted to have been appointed as Head of such a successful school and look forward to taking Adcote on to achieve even bigger and better things."

Debbie told us "During my time as Head I have not only achieved but exceeded the goals I set myself. I feel very proud of the progress Adcote has made over the past four years and delighted by the glowing praise we received in the recent Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) Report which recognised just how special Adcote is."

" However starting my own business has been an ambition of mine for many years and now is the perfect time to hand Adcote over - especially to an extremely successful new Head with such an impressive track record. It's fantastic to be leaving on a high and satisfying to know that I will be leaving Adcote in ship-shape order and in very safe hands."

Chair of Governors, Tim Morris added. "We were determined that Debbie's successor should have a proven track record as an excellent Head as well as all the necessary experience and skills required to build on the considerable progress the school has made. We are extremely grateful to Debbie for the hard work and commitment she has given the school and we wish her every success in her new venture. "

"Adcote is continuing to move forward and pupil numbers for September are already showing a significant increase on this year with fewer girls leaving and a higher intake expected. The Governors are confident that Ryan's considerable experience and leadership skills will facilitate Adcote's progression as a thriving, forward-thinking school which will continue to achieve even greater things in the future."
