GINNY'S TV TRICKS GET DOM'S JOB DONE
Adcote maths teacher Ginny Daley's talent for teaching circus tricks has led to a TV appearance on BBC1's hugely popular daytime consumer affairs programme "Don't Get Done Get Dom" due to be screened early next month.
Presented by Dominic Littlewood the programme aims to help consumers develop their ability to negotiate and get the best deals on everything from laptops to washing machines. Ginny Daley was contacted by the show's producers, via her website for the Shrewsbury Juggling Club, to help members of the public learn a new skill which would boost their self esteem.
She told us "I was asked to teach plate spinning as this was something the public wouldn't normally try but would result in a real sense of achievement and a more positive attitude in their ability to succeed."
"Circus skills are not only good fun but a really effective way of increasing mental agility and improving co-ordination generally, and form part of the Adcote activities programme. As well as juggling and plate spinning, the girls at Adcote also have the chance to learn skills such as unicycling and diabolo to help develop their self-confidence."
[Editor's note : The episode of 'Don't get done get Dom' featuring Adcote is due to be broadcast on Tuesday 5th December 2006 at 9.15am.]
