Every Girl is Special

At Adcote, each individual pupil’s development, happiness and well-being are our major priority. School life is founded on a close partnership between the girls, staff and parents. Whilst students are actively encouraged to pursue their goals with ambition, they are taught the importance of respect for others.

Girls are expected to treat others with kindness, understanding and tolerance and respond positively to the demands that community life places upon them.

Each girl has a personal tutor to monitor her progress and set targets for future improvement. Tutors also deliver the Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) curriculum in a sympathetic and well-informed manner.

The girls are represented through the School Council, and everybody has an opportunity to contribute ideas and opinions. A system of form captains and prefects helps to teach the girls responsibility for others.

When they arrive, each student is allocated to one of three houses - Glenmore, Haughton and Innage - which are the basis for competition within the school. Sporting trophies, music events and points gained throughout the year all go towards deciding on the top-performing house each year.

Adcote is a happy school where there is always someone to turn to for encouragement and praise or help and advice. Parents receive regular information about their daughters through parents’ meetings and written reports at the end of each term.
