Shakespeare in the Gardens at Adcote School

Posted: 5th May 2016

On Bank Holiday Monday, the sun shone on the group of actors gathered in the Adcote gardens, to present Mr Shakespeare’s comedy ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and a large audience were entertained as girls from Year 7 and Senior pupils worked together in the magnificent setting. The play was a further event in a summer of activities celebrating the Bards’ works.

Still to come is a workshop entitled ‘Shakespeare is Alive’ at the next Open Day on Saturday 14th May starting at 9.30 and finishing at 12.30.  There will be a carousel of performing activities for current pupils and visitors to participate in as they tour the School culminating in a performance for parents at the end of the morning.

Any families interested to find out more about the educational opportunities for girls at Adcote are invited, with their daughter, to join us for the morning, and friends are welcome too. The girls will be able to explore Shakespeare’s insults and learn about Shakespeare’s life and take part in creating some scenes from his most popular plays. There will be costumes and props to enhance the experience. Pupils will be on hand to lead tours and teaching staff will be present to answer questions.

Adcote School welcomes visits anytime during the School day when booked by appointment. Please call the Admissions team on 01939 260202 for more information or e-mail admissions@adcoteschool.co.uk
