Athletics Success

Posted: 30th June 2016

This year proved to be another successful year for Adcote in the Midlands ISA Athletics events. Girls have achieved personal bests when performing in Alexander Stadium and 10 girls have gone through to represent the Midlands in the National ISA Athletics Championship on Wednesday 29th June.

It was remarkable to see Izzy Jagielka run the 100m in 13.1 seconds. She won her heat and the final, and then went to win the hurdles (13.3s). Despite being a year younger than everyone else she has remarkable talent and is an excellent role model to the successful junior school pupils.

The reigning Year 5 Champions raised the bar further this year by winning 7 of their 9 events and achieving a team total of 57 points. The Year 6 team’s first place performance dominated the girls results table and when added to the boys scores, still allowed them to 3rd place overall.
