We are excited to enter our school newspaper Adcotians for a UK Shine Media Award.
Adcotians is 100% student led and produced. It involves pupils from across the whole school, encompassing Upper and Lower Schools and our international community. Girls of 10 different nationalities, many of whom are non native speakers of English, contribute to each edition.
The editor Kate Barabash is Ukrainian and an inspirational driving force, running weekly editorial conferences and driving up standards.
The newspaper has wide-ranging coverage, including links to national and international news of the day and wholly relevant to school readership.
Adcotians includes a variety of article types – from in depth features, to news and news in brief, reviews and comment – ensuring a healthy balance between information and entertainment.
It also adopts a serious-minded approach to global issues and the impact on and relevance to teenagers today.
