2019 A Level Results

Posted: 21st August 2019

We are enormously proud of this year’s A Level results, which provide further evidence of Adcote’s rapid development in providing outstanding education for young women.

Despite reports that top grades are in decline nationally, we are thrilled to announce that 30% of our grades were A*/A, marking an increase of 13% on last year and surpassing the national average of 25.5%.

65% of our grades were at A*/B, which represents an impressive rise of 26% and compares very favourably with the national average of 51.6%. Our pass rate was 100%.

These results mean that an incredible 82% of our students achieved their first choice university and indeed all our girls attained the grades they needed to access their first or second choice of university.

By any standard, these statistics are impressive but they are truly outstanding in the context of the fact that we are proud to be a non-selective school. Our philosophy is that girls thrive in a single sex environment, being supported with compassion and understanding, learning at their own pace. Some do not respond well to hothousing, some are late developers. At Adcote, we listen, we support, we care. These latest statistics prove that this very human approach to education works.

If you are interested in hearing more about our philosophy, please do contact the school for a visit. Remember, at Adcote, every day is an open day so don’t feel you have to wait for a day when you are “allowed” to visit the school. Just pick up the phone, there is always someone here to talk.
