Afternoon Tea for the Queen

Posted: 3rd May 2016

In celebration of the Queen’s 90th Birthday, pupils attending Adcote School’s ‘Cooking Club’ learned how to create a typical English Afternoon Tea.

The girls saw how to make dainty, finger sandwiches with a variety of fillings; smoked salmon and dill, cream cheese and cucumber and egg mayonnaise. They then produced traditional Scones served with strawberries, jam and cream. The question on everybody’s lips was ‘Should the jam go on first, or the cream?’

‘Does it really matter!’ was the answer, as it all tasted delicious!
