Adcote Walks Encourage Brain Activity

Posted: 4th May 2016

A new initiative has been set up in Adcote Junior School to boost pupils’ brainpower.

Every Thursday pupils and teachers in the lower years are walking for at least a mile during registration time, following a pilot scheme undertaken by a school in Scotland. The Scottish trial saw children becoming more focussed and awake following exercise. Staff also join in the walk and so far the activity has been fun and well received.  Head of the Junior School, Mrs Jacqui Greenwood commented ‘The Summer Term is the ideal time to start such a regime and we look forward to seeing the results.’

Parents of girls in the Junior School are invited to participate in the walk along with their daughters, and are invited for refreshments afterwards in the Darby Restaurant of the School.
