Adcote School is planning a drama extravaganza or ‘Dramafest’ on Race For Life Day, Thursday 23rd June, with Years 7 to 9 presenting four dramas simultaneously, in the fabulous gardens at Adcote.
The Year 7 girls will repeat their performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream which they recently presented, in Shrewsbury Castle to much acclaim, and other girls from the year will be doing the ‘Witches’ scenes from Macbeth. The Year 8 young actors are currently rehearsing a melodrama based on a Chaucer Tale and the Year 9 girls are going to perform a summer Pantomime of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Family and friends will be able to travel around the gardens and see the girls presenting a range of entertaining theatre. ‘It is the first time we have taken on such a challenge’ said their Drama teacher and Head of Performing Arts, Mr Danny Davies ‘We have so much talent in the School; and this will be a chance to show some of it – weather permitting’. Alternative plans to perform the pieces inside are arranged in the case of inclement weather. All four performances start at 3.30pm.
