A note from the Christian Union

A few words from our chaplain Lucinda Burns

We are very lucky to have our own ‘in school’ chaplain Lucinda Burns to look after our souls.

On a serious note, Lucinda – or ‘The Rev’ as the girls have taken to calling her – has become an essential part of daily life here in school. She brings a warmth, reliability and consistency that many have come to rely on – including staff – and is much valued by our whole community.

Rev Burns takes Upper School worship on Wednesday morning and Lower School worship on a Friday. Girls also have the opportunity to get involved in Christian Union.

Lucinda said: “Over the past two years it has been a delight and dare I say, such fun to be involved with Adcote.  Apart from leading regular worship, I run Christian Unions for all ages on Fridays where we eat cake, chat about life, watch videos and look at the Bible. Last term this resulted in four girls being confirmed by the Bishop of Shrewsbury and I had the privilege of baptising by full immersion another girl in one of my parishioners’ swimming pool.”
