Pink for Race for Life

Posted: 27th June 2017

Once again Adcote is holding its annual Race for Life event next week (Tuesday 4th July) to raise money for Cancer Research UK.  All pupils take part, but we very much hope that parents and family members will be able to join too.  We will be starting with a fun warm up at 2:15p.m. with the race commencing shortly afterwards.  Participants are encouraged to wear pink and are welcome to run, jog, walk or possibly even crawl their way around the course!  The course will consist of three laps of the school grounds and once again there will be a few optional obstacles along the way for those who would like an extra challenge!  Much needed refreshments will be provided afterwards and there will also be an ice cream van in attendance.

Over the years we have been able to raise a fantastic amount of money through this event and this year our target is to raise £2000.  To try and reach this, we are asking for a £2 entry from each participant and pupils have also been busy collecting in sponsorship over the last few weeks to help raise as much money as possible.  Alternatively, donations can be made directly through our online fundraising page and the link to this is: https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/adcote-school-for-girls

For those who have attended Race for Life in previous years, I am sure they would agree that this is a fantastic whole-school event which helps to raise money for an excellent cause.  We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 4th July and would like to thank you very much in advance for your support.
